Orienteering race (SA Champs Middle) 1:08:37 [3] *** 4.7 km (14:36 / km) +155m 12:32 / km
ahr:191 max:212 spiked:10/10c shoes: Salomon S-LAB Speedcross

Actual distance ran, 6.16km - climb 235m

Kind of received some bad health news on Friday evening that kind of prevented me from running this SA Champs, but still decided to compete.

Made a conscious decision to walk the course today and just focus 100% on nav.

Started off with a 1k leg to the first control, did take it quite easy at first just to get into the new map.
I had stages where i was walking a solid 8min/km pace uphill.

I had a clean run all the way until control #7 where i misread my control number and thought i was at the wrong control (stupid me...) and this mistake lead into control #8 as well where i was drawn to the left by Sarah Pope and had to use my one catch feature to rescue me and put me back on track. All in all it was about a 3 min mistake with both of them together.

From there it continued to be a clean run into the finish. Which was much needed after the crazy temperatures while running.

Road Running 10:00 [3] 2.0 km (5:00 / km) +20m 4:46 / km
ahr:186 max:202 shoes: Salomon S-LAB Sense Ultra

Lets just say this was a very frustrating run especially before champs.
Struggled to breathe after a K of easy running so decided to push and do the second K to see if it eased up at all. Well ended up getting worse, was going for 3km today but decided to stop take a breather to get heart rate down and oxygen in my lungs and walked back the last K.

Hopefully my lungs can hold me for champs this weekend.

Yoga (Stretching) 20:00 [3]

Thought that its a good idea to stretch the muscles out before the weekend.

Didn't want to push myself to hard, just needed to see how things went. Was quite surprised on how low my heart rate was.

Running (Time Trial) 14:56 [3] 3.0 km (4:59 / km)
ahr:198 max:206 shoes: Salomon SLAB XA Amphib

Had a solid first 1,5k was sticking to my under 4min/km planned pace.
After that, well it went down hill. Major chest pains and really struggles with breathing, thought it was best to slow pace down incase - heading to the Doc to see that it is nothing major as this wasnt the first this had happened

Running (Warm up) 10:00 [3] 1.0 km (10:00 / km)
ahr:154 max:168 shoes: Salomon SLAB XA Amphib

Running (Cool down) 10:00 [3] 0.4 km (25:00 / km)
ahr:152 max:161 shoes: Salomon SLAB XA Amphib

With needing to get my heart rate down, so i could actually breathe. Took a really easy walk around the track and sat down and did stretching.
