Adventure Race race (Teva Final) 8:30:00 [4]

Final of the Teva series at Noosa. Raced with Geronimo! (Thor and Wendy). We ended up winning the womens race, but I don't know how - it was a total disaster. The map was bloody awful, and picking a good run course was entirely based on luck - if you guessed the wrong first control (as we did) you had to do 2 laps of the run leg - which ended up taking us nearly 4 hours.
The special tests were a load of horse shit, and then almost all the teams had to cut the bike leg short to make the cut off. The last leg was the paddle which started off with 3km into a screaming headwind.
The worst organised race I've ever done (and we paid $110 each for the experience)

Cycling 1:30:00 [2] 40.0 km (2:15 / km)

Out and back to Mt Alford with the group. Coffee in Boonah afterwards.

Running 50:00 [3] 11.0 km (4:33 / km)

Nice easy cruise - taking it easy for a couple of days before the adventure race on the weekend. Legs felt great, stomach was awful.

Cycling 1:40:00 [3] 45.0 km (2:13 / km)

Carneys Creek and Mt Alford.
Realised just before I left that my front wheel had some unhealthy sideways wobble - lucky there are 4 other road bikes in the shed for me to steal a replacement off. As James is currently hanging out at a Columbian beach resort, I don't think he'll mind too much that his bike's been raided for spare parts.

Running (Hash run) 45:00 [2] 8.0 km (5:38 / km)

Hash run out near Moogerah. Usual chaos, but a nice run around the farm.

Monday Nov 20, 2006 #

Running 1:27:00 [3] 18.0 km (4:50 / km)

Long run around Sugarloaf Rd. Much cooler than last week which was nice, and felt heaps better running. Only started to feel tired in the last 5 mins which was really good - definitely a big improvement on my first long run a week and a half ago!
