Sunday Feb 4

Orienteering race 33:12 [4]3 km (11:04 / km) +125m 9:10 / km
Tough middle course at Kaahu. Very thick and low vis, but heaps of tracks (just had to make sure you got the right one). had a pretty good run, although found the map hard to interpret for the last loop. finished second.
Orienteering race 18:09 [5]2.4 km (7:34 / km)
Sprint race at Kaahu-iti. didn't make any mistakes, but felt very slow after the morning race.

Saturday Feb 3

Event: Waitangi 4 Day 2007

Orienteering race 1:11:48 [4]6.5 km (11:03 / km)
First race of waitangi at piopio. terrain looked nice and friendly from a distance, but turned out to be pretty rough and difficult and very slow going. made a couple of dumb mistakes.

Thursday Feb 1

Orienteering 25:40 [4]4 km (6:25 / km)
Park race at mt coottha botanic gardens. heaps of fun to run there - lots of twisty confusing tracks. didn't make any mistakes, but stood around at a couple of controls trying to figure out how to join up the tracks to the next one.
Cycling 45:00 [3]18 km (2:30 / km)
ride to and from orienteering

Wednesday Jan 31

Cycling 1:43:00 [4]50 km (2:04 / km)
OMG trolls 'social' ride. turned into a total smashfest. managed one turn at the front which lasted less than 30 secs. I thought with 2 days off I'd be set, but it was one of the hardest trolls rides I've done! Very slow ride home from the cafe today!
Running 40:00 [4]6 km (6:40 / km)
Took the little cyclone girls for a run in Anzac Park. Lots of hills, Rachel beat be up the last one - better watch out or they'll all be leaving me behind soon!

Monday Jan 29

Note
(rest day)
was thinking about a recovery run, but I'm going to re-allocate that time to sitting on the couch. still feeling pretty tired after the weekend, and a bit sick so I want to make sure I'm all better for the NZ races.

going to have to stay late at work as well - have to clean out the kit for a big hydroponics experiment and going in the glasshouse before sunset is really not a option as its about 50C in there during the day.
