Sunday Jul 15

Orienteering race (Aus Relays) 37:00 [5]5 km (7:24 / km)
ran 3rd leg for the Qld team. we were a fair way down, but I passed WA and TAS and we finished 5th. I think the winning teams were finishing as I came through the spectator control the first time... which kinda killed my motivation to run up that f...ing big hill.

Saturday Jul 14

Orienteering race (Aus Long Champs) 1:17:00 [5]9.3 km (8:17 / km)
Pretty happy with my run - I got round without any big mistakes - just went up into the rock a bit early at the end of the long leg which slowed me down a little. ran with wendy for a while on the first part of the course, and grace caught me at the end. really happy with how my knee was - until I smashed it on a rock - got some extra cuts and bruises to add to the collection! felt pretty good for the whole classic race but got slowed down a bit too much by the rocks and fallen timber. now I just need to get my running speed back before woc.

the public race after the middle distance jwoc final. really fun area, but couldn't navigate at all today. if the rest of the car hadn't been in such a hurry to leave today I would have run the course again to try and get it right!

Wednesday Jul 11

Cycling 2:00:00 [3]50 km (2:24 / km)
rode out and back to the jwoc middle distance qualification from dubbo.... until I got a flat on the way home. spare tube wouldn't inflate, so I called wendy and she came and rescued me!

Tuesday Jul 10

Orienteering race 1:16:00 [4]8.5 km (8:56 / km)
public race on the jwoc long distance area. so much fun!! really rocky and tough running, so I took it easy cos I didn't want to risk hurting my knee. had a pretty good run and didn't make any mistakes. still have no running fitness, but felt better than saturday.
