Orienteering 1:12:00 [3] 8.4 km (8:34 / km)
OY at White Rock. shit terrain, shit course, shit map.
first part of the course was average - easy controls, but had to run a bit slow cos of the long grass with heaps of rocks and fallen junk, then 5 was a bingo control on a badly mapped (ie, nothing mapped) hillside with low vis. wasted 10mins or so scouring the hillside and going back out to look for attackpoints on the track which didn't exist. was just about to give up and saw the flag. was ok for a few controls in the rocky stuff (and found a few people who had recently found their way back onto the map). made a big mistake on 14, and ended up too high, and too far along the rock, and was getting too tired and vague to concentrate properly.
nearly called it quits just before heading out to a stupid out-and-back control at 16 (especially as it started pissing with rain as I got to the track). was slow, but ok for the next few controls, but then wasted heaps of time on the massively wrongly mapped last control.
probably didn't help that I was still pretty tired from yesterday, and didn't really have the strength to run hard through the shit for too long, but the course and map were pretty bad.
got some extra strength training afterwards pushing cars out of the mud.
