KB3 long at Kaihoka lakes. Some pretty epic terrain with limestone and sand dunes along the coast. The middle section of this was some of the best orienteering I've ever done - super scenic and amazing terrain. body not cooperating though - taped up my leg and while it didn't feel like I re-injured anything it did feel like I was running with one leg. Glad that I made it for this run.
3 PM

walk 1:00:24 intensity: (1:00:03 @1) + (21 @2) 3.6 km (16:48 / km) +58m 15:32 / km
ahr:101 max:128

Walk out to wharariki beach to look at the microsoft rock. found some seals which was way more exciting.

Note

Humph. Boo. Hiss. Grrrr.

I was meant to fly to NZ this morning to go to KB3 in Nelson, but Brisbane was covered in pea-soup fog this morning and no planes got in, so none were going out.

My original replacement flights didn't get me into Nelson till midday Sunday, but I managed to get one via Wellington that at least gets me in Sat evening so that I can race Sunday. (bit annoyed that its the sprint Monday now as I really wouldn't have cared if I'd missed that).
Also now need to figure out the logistics of meeting up with the team cos the events are not actually near Nelson.

Note

Calf definitely improving, but doesn't feel like running would be an option yet.

pilates 1:00:00 [1]

Pilates. avoided anything that could annoy my calf. new instructor that was a bit annoying - could be first day energy. tbc.

Note

Physio. expected calf torture. got bonus hammy and popliteus fun as well - which checks out with where the problems have been.
