running 15:00 [3] 2.5 km (6:00 / km)

First 'run' for 3 weeks. Won't be running for a while after today given how the achilles feels

So, the month is about to end. Aside from the chocolate debacle I've managed just 100.5 ks running and 95k cycling so far. It will need to be a big day tomorrow to meet my goals. I'll have to get up really early to run the 199.5k and ride the 405k necessary. Still at least I ran and rode further than I drove my car this month (25k).

My achilles is still buggered but at least its at a point now where I can ride the 8 or 9 km to work. 2 weeks on the bus was killing me. Still I've increased 2 belt buckle notches this month and need to cut back on the chocolate, which I've pretty much been eating non-stop (along with chips at work) since the 11th.

Note

So, I went in to Haigh's chocolates today to buy a small gift for one of the PAs who was having a birthday. After buying some rocky road the nice girl behind the counter asked if I wanted a sample to which I immediately said yes and stuffed a couple of dark chocolate bits down my gob without thinking.

running 1:03:31 [3] 12.0 km (5:18 / km)

Orienteering. Not the worst run I ever had but blew 3 minutes on control 6 which put me out of contention and no chance to break 60 for the 11.8km.

Pulled up really lame so no training for me for some time.

Saturday May 9, 2009 #

running 36:36 [3] 8.4 km (4:21 / km)

Run around the river.

So far so good on most fronts. Have kept up an average of roughly 10k per day, which is pretty easy. Injury isn't helping though, but it seemed to inmprove after a bit of acupuncture this morning. Cycling is looking doubtful though.

Have left work at 7.55 most nights. Few early morning starts though. No chips and no alcohol is pretty simple - the hardest thing is the no chocolate.

Friday May 8, 2009 #

running 54:00 [3] 10.6 km (5:06 / km)

Wednesday May 6, 2009 #

running 1:00:00 [3] 13.2 km (4:33 / km)

Ran home via the river.

Tuesday May 5, 2009 #

running 40:00 [3] 8.05 km (4:58 / km)

Running home, standard route. Again, all compliance requirements met

Monday May 4, 2009 #

running 37:00 [3] 8.05 km (4:36 / km)

Usual run home, with intervals. All compliance requirements met

Sunday May 3, 2009 #

running 41:00 [3] 10.0 km (4:06 / km)

With my dodgy calf/achilles need to keep to flat ground and hard surfaces so I thought I might as well do a solid run. Did the first k in 5.00 then the next 9 average 4 min/k pace.

Ice and drugs afterwards.

This 3 fruit and 3 vege thing is the hardest of all. I actually have to go out of my way to go shopping. Apple, strawberries, grapes, celery, beans, carrot, broccolini

Saturday May 2, 2009 #

running 1:53:27 [3] 22.3 km (5:05 / km)

Wanted to do a long run but calf was giving me grief from about the 1 hour mark so cut it short.

Dreamt last night of eating chocolate. In the dream, which I knew was a dream, I was wondering if eating chocolate in a dream meant I had to pay up. But I decided it didn't.

cycling 30:00 [3] 15.0 km (2:00 / km)

Rode to the MCG to see the Hawks (just) get up. Right calf bloody sore. I won't be doing much cycling for a while. May have to invoke force majeure soon

Note

Banana, apple, grapes, tomato, lettuce, potato.

Friday May 1, 2009 #

running 30:00 [3] 6.1 km (4:55 / km)

Easy peasey. Only 293.9 ks to go. 3X fruit - watermelon strawberries grapes. Vegetables - potatos, lettuce, tomato (I know its technically a fruit) and broccoli. Resisted the free chocolate and wine on the plane.
