Sunday Sep 3

Kayaking 2:14:54 [3]
ahr:118 max:140 rhr:59 slept:8.5 weight:76kg
Kayak from Oneroa to Onetangi and back. Might have started a bit fast, Heart rate dropped down until I was struggling to maintain 110 bpm. Sea also rough in places makes things hard, especially in my tippy boat.

Saturday Sep 2

Running (Hill Reps) 35:12 [4] +325m
ahr:137 max:165 slept:8.0 weight:76kg
Easyish hill reps up the steps near the viaduct. Felt OK legs strong.

Doing an easy MTB and Paddle after to practice transitions.
Mountain Biking 49:59 [3] +410m
ahr:127 max:147 slept:8.0 weight:76kg
Easy MTB from home around the streets. Straight after the run to practice transitions. Felt a few quads a bit, prob due to the hill reps.
Kayaking 32:33 [3]
ahr:132 max:145 slept:8.0 weight:76kg
Kayak from Oneroa north and back. Straight after MTB and run to practice transitions. Feeling good once I got cranked up, technique is going well.

Friday Sep 1

Running 1:02:43 [3] +315m
ahr:143 max:161 slept:8.0 weight:77kg
Run from home around the North end of the island. Legs feel strong, but heart rate is still high. Didn't feel either injury at all. Yay

Thursday Aug 31

Mountain Biking 1:59:55 [3] +835m
ahr:130 max:160 slept:9.0 weight:77kg (injured)
MTB through Whakanaphu then around the street to make up 2 hours. Felt good fair bit of puffing on the hills though.

Went to the Physio today and my ankle is getting better, have me a wobble board and some more exercises to do. Didn't feel it on my ride and only a little on my run.
My sore Achilles is apparently not my Achilles, but some sort of lubricating fluid capsule that is aggravated. The capsule is between the tendon and the skin. Bit of a strange one because I don't feel it at all when I have bare feet but hurts bad when I put shoes on, especially running shoes. I think it was aggravated during the race when I was wearing tramping boots (at the time it felt like a blister). Apparently Justin Marshal had the same thing when the All Blacks changed their boot sponsor. He took to the boots with a knife and cut out part of the upper heal area. So guess what I've just done, cut up an old pair of trainers, and bingo no more pain. So now I can train at least until it fixes itself.
Running 9:52 [3] +60m
ahr:136 max:149 slept:9.0 weight:77kg (injured)
Short run immediately after cycling to practice getting the legs moving after a transition. Felt good, but was a pretty easy ride and run. Should probably do this after a hard session to get the most benefit.
C • daily double 2

Wednesday Aug 30

Kayaking 1:15:59 [3]
ahr:141 max:156 slept:8.0 weight:77kg (injured)
Kayak from Oneroa to Palm beach and back, real cold and windy. Was good to get back into a fast single.
C • great race 2
