Note

First week of training program. Seemed to go alright. Traded a 2hr bike for packraft mission which meant was a bit light on the biking, but good to practice the packraft skills.
10 AM

Trek 2:09:28 intensity: (2:09:16 @1) + (10 @2) + (2 @3) 11.14 km (11:37 / km) +504m 9:29 / km

Walk up to Kings Creek Hut with Pakraft. With JJ, Matt and Pat. River looking pretty low.

Rafting 3:37:26 intensity: (3:37:21 @1) + (5 @3) 12.38 km (17:34 / km) +735m 13:33 / km
ahr:101 max:132 shoes: Alpaca Gnu

Packraft down the Wangapeka River. Water quite low, so lots of scraping and maneuvering around rocks. Surprising what you can get down, but probably would have been quicker just to walk down the river. Good practice. Very uncomfortable in the front, going to have to find some different sitting method.

Kayak around Pepin Island in the double with Megan. Very nice paddle and cant believe I haven't done this before.

Up up to the Maitai Caves including a bit extra. Pretty solid pace for me. Hot.

Morning paddle with Dave, Cam and JJ (with Gilbert handing off the back for the first half).
Steady/solid pace. Feeling good.

Solidish ride around Sharlands Loop on the Tallboy. Feeling a bit tired by the end.

Lunch with the normals. Bit stop and start and it was quite hot. Feeling a bit tired for some reason

Headed north for steady ride towards Cable Bay. Strong wind on the way out and the opposite back. Started off with Megan who was on the cx bike and struggled to shake her.

Run after bike. As usual after biking felt crap for the first 10 then came good.

Lunchtime run in the heat. Added a bit extra on to bring it up to 60. Feeling ok.

Christmas kayak race games in the double with Georgia. Paddle and position swapping. Few small waves to surf.
