shoes: VJ Supra 2

JEC Long W18 - 6km, 28/38
Another disastrous long.
Had already lost over a minute at 3 which actually ended up being quite a small mistake compared to #5. Don't know why I didn't just hit the track but decided to go straight. Got caught in some pretty bad windblow whilst cutting under the crags. Think thats why I got completely disorientated. Was just trying to get to the other side of it without having to turn back on myself which would have been the sensible thing to do. Instead I panicked and just kept going for 5 mins before deciding the end definitely wasn't in sight. The only way out was the way I had come in.
I think I wasn't expecting windblow to be mapped as green and didn't notice the little dots but still should have realised I was going in completely the wrong direction.

The phi loop went okay but had lost concentration by the last loop after spectator. Another big mistake to #18. Disappointed.

Running warm up/down 20:00 [1] 2.0 km (10:00 / km)

Orienteering race 41:00 [4] 5.6 km (7:19 / km)

JEC relay 2nd leg.
Mistake early on so lost the people I started with. On my own for most of it.

JEC sprint W18 - Stirling uni, 2.5k, 4th!
So happy with this result. Didn't feel like a particularly good run when I was out there but looking back it was definitely a lot smoother than EYOC or JK sprint. Great to see what just 1 month of uninjured running training can do. Felt like I could push until the end rather than being held back by unfitness.
Only 1 second behind a medal which is frustrating and there were definitely many hesitations and micro-route choices where I could have got that back but there always is. Still, it was better than I ever expected to do so I'll take it!
Pretty motivated for next year as a top year 18 now I know a podium place is possible. Just need to focus on staying uninjured.
