Orienteering 1:06:40 [3] 8.0 mi (8:20 / mi)

AndalucĂa O-Meeting middle. 6.1km, 125m

I didn't get totally lost yayyyy :-)

So this was actually a better race for me (hence the above). Little mistakes at 3, 7, 14 primarily plus a few other really little ones. But that's okay for me. Nice hitting controls today. Think the people around me actually helped today, didn't feel as pressured as yesterday (improvement!) and my bearings were more accurate (improvement, yay!). Also thinking more about planning and entering control circles and staying focused.

Still some blips where I didn't take enough care exiting the control or got thrown off my bearing by vegvegeg. Was a bit slow getting though those spikier bushes too lol. And had to tie my shoelace twice dammit.

La Brena-Barbate, AOM training CA16-06 middle training
6.0km, 120m

Getting more accurate today but some big mistakes: 4, 7, 8 and 10. Interestlngly enough, was maybe due to pressure from other people and doubting myself a bit. Need to quit that and just orienteer like I know how. Like a boss! :-)

AOM 2016 Night Relay, La Brena-Majales Norte

Going pretty well for the first seven controls (though 2 may have been a tad lucky) and fun running. No.8 was the big messup, still not too sure what happened there.. Sorry teammate Marcus :-(
We'd read the race info beforehand which said there were ten controls for my course, and control 10 was right beside the finish. So I happily folded very neatly at no.10 and the finish control, nicely ignoring the last loop. Hmm again sorry Marcus :-( But maybe was a good thing considering my little headtorch. Tough day!

I'm Morocc-O your body!!

La Brena-Barbate, AOM training CA16-03, Multitechniques

What a fantastic training: only contours, corridor, windows, corridor, follow contour, long legs no paths, and control pick.

I didn't do the second corridor, follow contour, or long legs. Mainly because of the confusion at 10 and having to run so far back on the sandy hilly ride. But was loving the contour only and the control pick. Such nice runnable forest and cool technical areas.

My bearings need more work in complicated areas, just not accurate enough. And need to be clear about the control circle and attackpoints instead of just running and looking. But nice feeling knowing I couldn't have done this area a year ago say.

Conil de la Frontera, AOM training CASP'16-01 City Sprint

Second training of the day and feeling pretty excited for it. Ever since Bergen, have always really enjoyed the tiny alleyway city sprints with twists and tricks at every corner.

Lots of hesitations even without running at race pace, plus a few mistakes but nothing massive. But was more doing it for fun than focusing on technique I guess

La Brena-Barbate, AOM training CA16-04 AAA

First Spanish training of the week! Very out of sync at the start. Couldn't match features and no.1 was totally off.
Continued up to 4 and met Declan, also confused. Teamed up, found ourselves at 5 and went through controls together from then on. Started off as simply trying to be accurate but became more of a race as we both got more into the map. Good fun! Also very nice to have company for the first training.
