Aqua Fitness 1:00:00 [2]

Good class. Felt good to be back at it.

Taekwondo 25:00 [1]

Wasn't very tough tonight. I was trying to teach this little girl her stuff, but she wasn't paying attention at all.

Taekwondo 1:00:00 [3]

Fun class. :) We did row work (which was really tiring!) and then did jumping kicks, like on the heavy bag, jumping high kicks (I was the first person to hit the target!), and jumping off the door and hitting a pad.

Squash 1:30:00 [1]
shoes: Squash Shoes

I couldn't make it to Ladies' Night as I had an English assignment due, so I ended up only doing the Canada Games practice. It was okay, we were practicing our forward and I'm rather confused as my coach keeps telling me to do something, and then almost the opposite.

Strength 50:00 [3]

I was trying to squeeze in multiple activities this morning so I couldn't do my whole routine at the Y. Did all my leg exercises, but skipped some upbody things along with a lot of my cardio. Felt really tired, and increasingly grumpy and bored.

Squash 30:00 [2]

Could only make it to squash for 30 minutes. Was practicing my forehand by myself and then working on movement a little bit with our coach.

Taekwondo 10:00 [1]

Black belt testing. I was my friend's partner (who was going for second degree). This includes the sparring techniques and self defenses. I'm so glad I was wearing the trainer's body pad for the sparring techniques! There were a lot of really good back kicks!

Taekwondo 5:00 [4]

First time I've sparred since May. It actually went pretty well, although I did feel a little slow. Did two sparring matches.

Taekwondo 30:00 [1]

Was practicing with my friend for her black belt testing tomorrow.

Thursday Nov 23, 2006 #

Taekwondo 1:00:00 [1]

Because today was testing, it was really a class. I only went because I wanted to practice my back kicks. I think I'm getting a little better. My coach went pretty in depth technically which was nice.

Taekwondo 1:00:00 [2]

Tonight was really fun! My teacher has put together a more 'elite' demo team (everyone is basically black belts and really talented). We did a lot of jumping kicks (high, side, side kick punch turning kick, spilt kick, scissor kick, side kick back, etc) and practiced 540 reverse turning kick (something that I'm horrible at), and finished off the class by practicing our nunchucks

Squash 2:00:00 [1]
shoes: Squash Shoes

Went to the Ladies' Night and Canada Games practice back to back. Our coach didn't really do much with us girls tonight so we played a lot of cut throat. Ladies' Night was fun, but I kept messing up on volleying the serves.

Canada Games practice.

Strength (Step Class) 30:00 [2]
shoes: Blue Asics Gel 1110

Wow, did I ever feel tired in this class. I don't think that it was any harder than usual, but I kept getting lost and felt exhausted (I'm sure eating those Cherry Blasters before didn't help).

Taekwondo 45:00 [1]

Not a bad class, we did line work which was pretty fun. I don't think that I'm using my nunchucks correctly because I always end up hurting myself. Did more self-defense, but this time it was with my friend that's testing for her second dan in a week.

Thursday Nov 16, 2006 #

Taekwondo 1:00:00 [2]

Wasn't the most exciting class. We did forms, gibondonjacks, self-defenses (ugh), and finished it off with free sparring, sit-ups and push-ups.

Orienteering (Night O) 46:00 [2] 3.3 km (13:56 / km)
shoes: Orienteering Shoes (Jalas)

Dad really wanted to do a Night O this fall and he decided that the weather was perfect tonight (and it was!). It was a fairly simple course (course 2 level, and around 3.3 km). As it's not recommended to be a junior and run alone in Centennial Park my dad and I ran after everyone to pick up the controls. It was a nice easy pace, and it felt good (especially as I haven't been running very much lately), with some walking. I had a hard time spotting the controls (need to work on my scanning skills), and I'm glad I had my dad's light (well, it was on him) as mine wasn't very strong.

Most likely the last orienteering event for the fall. And definitely the last short-sleeve orienteering event. :)

Squash 30:00 [1]
shoes: Squash Shoes

Went to my first Canada Games practice. The practice was about movement so it wasn't too strenous. The practice was actually 1.5 hours we weren't doing much in some of it, or it was very hard.

Squash 45:00 [1]
shoes: Squash Shoes

Was playing squash with a friend.

Squash 45:00 [1]
shoes: Squash Shoes

Went to play squash with my mom. I had watched the Moncton Open Squash Tournament (Fraser was playing in it) so I didn't get to do much training besides some intense spectacting. Oh, some more news concerning squash. NB is the process of creating a squash team to go to the Yukon in March for the Canada Games. A team needs 4 girls and 4 guys to be allowed to go and the NB team only has 2 girls. As of last night, I'm the 3rd girl. I'm going to get creamed as I haven't haven't really played that much, but I will probably get a free trip to the Yukon out of it. :)

Strength (Step Class) 30:00 [3]

Fun class. :) There was a different teacher today.

Thursday Nov 9, 2006 #

Running warm up/down (Treadmill) 10:00 [2]
shoes: Blue Asics Gel 1110

Warm-up on a treadmill. Felt really tired and legs felt dead (not sure why though).

Strength 33:00 [2]

Did all my usual routines except for the lower back bench because some guy was on it for 15 minutes. Felt tired.

Strength (Elliptical) 10:00 [1]

Strength (Stepper) 5:00 [2]

Went a little better this time. Did this and 5 minutes of "The Wave" instead of doing 10 minutes of biking.

Strength (The Wave) 5:00 [2]

Could definitely feel my quads with this machine.

Wednesday Nov 8, 2006 #

Taekwondo 1:00:00 [2]

Went to the evening class. Was lots of fun because almost all the juniors were there. :)

Aqua Fitness 50:00 [3]

Was a tough class because Natasha found some new exercises, and it was much more aerobic. Good class, and the music wasn't too bad either.

Tuesday Nov 7, 2006 #

Running warm up/down (Treadmill) 10:00 [2]
shoes: Blue Asics Gel 1110

Did the interval-thing warm-up on the treadmill that the trainer set up. I think I actually only did 9 minutes because my hand hit the Emergency Stop by mistake. Oops.

Strength 35:00 [2]

Went pretty as I haven't done it for a week and a half. One of the machines I added another 5lbs because I didn't realize that the On/Off Switch for the extra 5 pounds was on.

Strength (Elliptical) 10:00 [2]

Was good, time passed quickly.

Biking warm up/down (Stationary) 10:00 [2]

Cool down on a bike.

Strength (Stepper) 5:00 [1]

I'm still trying to figure out how to use the stepper. It went okay, but I don't think I have it yet.

Note
slept:6.0

The Legs for Literacy run was on today, so I volunteered to be at the Running Room's waterstation. Although it wasn't as bad as last year's hypothermic half (some of the volunteers got frost bite) it was pretty cold for this time of year (-5 C). Our water and gatorade froze.. I was there at 6:30am - 12:30 and am now exhausted.

Squash 45:00 [1]
shoes: Squash Shoes

First time playing squash since May. It took a while for my mom and I to warm up and I got a blister on my thumb, but it was pretty good.

Friday Nov 3, 2006 #

Strength (Step Class) 30:00 [2]
shoes: Blue Asics Gel 1110

Was pretty good. I'm enjoying these a lot. :)

Strength (Super Flex and Tone) 1:00:00 [3]

Natasha and I went to a Super Flex and Tone class at the Y aat 6am. Here's a description of the class:

Muscle toning class that uses tubing, hand weights, body resistance and/or stability balls (<-- Which we didn't get to use: :( ).

It was pretty intense, or maybe that was just me... My shoulder was really hurting (and not a muscle burning like in the other exercises) in one of the exercises.

Taekwondo 1:00:00 [3]

Ugh, these private lessons are going to kill me. We did a lot of kicking this class and I'm so out of shape!

Aqua Fitness 1:00:00 [2]

Good class. :) I'm still sore from TKD on Monday though.
