Hiking 1:42:00 [2] 5.0 km (20:24 / km) +700m 12:00 / km

To cap off the birthday week, Ian orchestrated fondu on a mountain! We hiked up to the look out at Petgill Lake in Squamish, and set up for delicious cheese fondu with sausage, apple, pear, bread, potatoes and broccoli. There was about a 1:2 ratio of eating to hiking. About 1:42 up, 1:30 eating, and then 1:30 down. Cheese fondu is a little heavy though for hiking. The hike was pretty empty, which was nice, and have a good view, but I don't think I need to do it again. Fun day!

Hiking 15:00 [1] 1.5 km (10:00 / km) +180m 6:15 / km
(sick)

I had originally wanted to go climb a mountain, but with feeling not awesome, Ian and I opted for a mini adventure to Mystery Lake at Seymour. A short 1.5km hike in (time is an estimate). Lovely lake to swim in although I'm not sure what the mystery is. Then we spent a lot of time picking blueberries. :)

Blech, the beginnings of a cold. Who gets a cold in July! Hopefully I'm not past the point of no return.

Quick run in between harp lessons and Oscar's birthday celebration dinner. My Garmin is so slow at picking up satellites, so I used strava for distance and my garmin for heart rate.

My friend told me the Step and Sculpt class was a good one, so I tried it at lunch for a break. I enjoyed myself.

Short and slow. But at least I got out. :) The part of the Seawall I was along was even mostly in the shade, woohoo!

Plyometrics class at the Y. Ran into some friends so that was nice. This was probably not the smartest class to do. My ankle was definitely not super happy, and neither was my wrist. Sigh. At least I feel a little more motivated to exercise again, so that's positive.

Orienteering 26:06 [2] 3.0 km (8:42 / km)

Skinkaloppet/Magnus and Andrea's going away party. I came tied for fifth being a minute and 6 seconds off, which I think is pretty decent for my first skinkaloppet! I was originally going to guess a more accurate guess, but then got thrown off by the person's guess ahead of me. Ankle was a little unsteady and I felt very cautious.

Note

So much smoke in Vancouver from forest fires nearby! No outdoor exercise for me today.

Biking 1:50:00 [1] 30.0 km (3:40 / km) +270m 3:31 / km

Biking to Whytecliff Park and Horseshoe Bay. Mostly a leisurely pace with a break for chocolate chip cookies and blueberries (and one or two freshly picked blackberries). We explored around Whytecliff a bit and then decided to bus home instead of biking back again. There was a nice breeze for a lot of it, but still quite toasty as we didn't start quite as early as planned. Time, distance, and climb is all approximate.

Bouldering 30:00 [1]

Bouldering with Kate at the Hive! We were climbing mostly 1s, which was good as I have very poor technique and a very weak upper body. Lots of fun, but I definitely tired out pretty quickly in my forearms. I was a little hesitant going all the way to the top if I didn't have a good grip as I'm still cautious about landing on my ankle funny. We were there for around 1.5 hours I think. Definitely a little sore the next day.
