Hiking 2:00:00 [2]

Hiking up to Mount Strachan in Cypress Park (my first time doing it). Trail guide says that it is a 10.5km loop and 550m of elevation gain, but we got a little lost on the way down and had to bushwack down to a parallel trail. It took us about 1.5 hours to get up, and then I wasn't paying attention to the time on the way down (maybe 1.5 hours as well). The views are super nice from up top, and a little quieter than hikes like Eagle Bluffs or St. Mark's Summit. Fairly steep on the way up, but do-able. Enjoyed the views for quite a long time at the time. There were some bugs if you stopped on the trail, but fortunately none at the top. I wore my hiking boots with my orthotics for the first. They seemed fine, until I took them off and found very fluid-filled blisters on the side of my feet (but not painful, weird). Beautiful day out!

Biking 1:00:00 [1] 22.0 km (2:44 / km)

Biking the 8.5km Arbutus Greenway and back with Oscar. It was a lovely day out! The trail was pleasantly busy (as in it's nice to see people using it, but you could really bike at whatever pace you want and not run into people). Some of the street crossings are a little weird, but overall it's quite a nice path! Manages to avoid a lot of steep climb too. So many blackberries along the path and some very colourful flowers near Marine Drive. Biking time has been shortened as we were mostly just cruising along. Lovely day out!

Note

Would highly recommend watching the documentary Icarus (on Canadian Netflix at least), which is about the Russian doping scandal.

Zumba 1:00:00 [1]

Zumba! Time to shake those hips and shimmy those shoulders. Looked fairly foolish, but enjoyed myself. The instructor was super enthusiastic, which was fun.

Kickboxing 1:00:00 [2]

Women's only kickboxing class at DCS Combat Sports. Fun! They focused a lot on technique, and had a lot of trainers around to help out and hold pads. Still had us moving a lot though, so it was pretty tiring and sweaty. The beginners were separated out to go over the main moves. When we got to the kicking portion, he was impressed at how hard I could kick. Guess I haven't forgotten all my taekwondo technique despite it being over 10 years ago. There are so many fun niche fitness things to do in Vancouver, but they're all so expensive.

Biking 45:00 [3]

Spin class at Cyklus. They have cool screens that show you all sorts of stats. I liked the instructor and music, and it felt good to work hard.
