Orienteering (Sprint) 20:04 [4] 3.54 km (5:40 / km)

This sprint was really really rough for me. That was from a combination of really not understanding how to look for stairs and how they would blend in, and from not yet having a feeling for my pacing while navigating. With a few more sprints in the coming days I will greatly improve!

1. (84) Decent start, planned out the first control but once I had gone through the first elevation I barely found the stairs, then from there I couldn't find the entrance to one. (control)
2. (32) Poor route choice from not planning ahead because I was caught up with finding the #1. Decent execution though. (control, planning ahead)
3. (46) Good route and decent control
4. (10) Poor plan but I ran faster than most people so apparently it was a good split...
5. (71) No pre planning, (planning ahead, control)
6. (79) No plan ahead,
7. (34) Decent route plan but no (control)
8. (32) Good runners route, knew the control decently
9. (30) Poor plan because I got caught by the trap and had to run around, but I ran fast
10. (52) Poor route and ran slowly because I wasn't sure of myself
11. (87) Terrible job, sped up and didn't check off houses, ran into the wrong yard then came back
12. (50) Running slowly because I was just starting to realize myself and settle into my orienteering
13. (17) Had my head up and ran hard
14. (4) knew my plan and ran hard
15. (8) also had a plan and looked up to see the fence and control
16. (74) didn't look up and stuttered which made me run slowly
17. (69) hadn't thought of what the competition center would look like so my map reading was off
Finnish (44) decent but bummed by a crazy weird race

My main takeaway from this race was that I can be confident in my running speed and should pick the runners routes --> therefore I should focus less on route choice over the next month and more on keeping track of where I am. I will also have to continue to get more used to the European sprint terrain
