It was the sort of cold and dry winter’s day that just screamed ‘long run’, so despite not having done more than an hour in months, I went for it.
Aim was for a steady sub-5 pace, which more-or-less worked, the fluctations in splits being more due to underfoot conditions and traffic.
Thought this loop was 17-18k but turns out it’s almost 20, which did feel a bit excessive so I stopped at 90 minutes and walked home.
Lots of minor twinges to start with, but calves held up, so a good day’s work all in all.
