It was the sort of cold and dry winter’s day that just screamed ‘long run’, so despite not having done more than an hour in months, I went for it.

Aim was for a steady sub-5 pace, which more-or-less worked, the fluctations in splits being more due to underfoot conditions and traffic.

Thought this loop was 17-18k but turns out it’s almost 20, which did feel a bit excessive so I stopped at 90 minutes and walked home.

Lots of minor twinges to start with, but calves held up, so a good day’s work all in all.

The new 'high and dry' loop around the roads of Richmond Park again - some depressions have turned into ponds and it's still raining, so it'll be interesting to see what they look like after the weekend...

It's my last week on the current project, so not much time for running and not much sleeping either - but somehow, I managed to get 'in the zone' for a decently fast run. Thought I might chunder on the big hill, but just about held it together.

Failed attempt at a fast park loop. Had felt weak all day, but that doesn’t always translate into a bad run. Could have ground it out, but just no fun so didn’t.

Other excuses include park still surprisingly icy and not enough breakfast.
