Not quite such perfect weather with the 'Beast from the East' bringing cold and gusty winds, plus a tiny bit of snow. This weekend should have been the Stockholm Indoor Cup so it felt quite apt as an 'homage to Swedish winter'.

My running was more of an homage to pain though as I felt really tired from the off, but just about ground it out. A 200m stretch of main track near the end has turned into a lake so needed a big detour to get around it - can't remember that ever happening in 10 years of living here.

My perfect weather for running - 10C and a little wind, meaning a run in my perfect running clothes: longish shorts, long sleeve top and gloves.

It was super wet underfoot, but with O shoes it was mostly good fun and I came back with properly muddy 'cross country runner calves'.

Felt better than Wednesday and the time shows it. A week of (light) snow is forecast so am hoping the newly purchased second hand 'rodel' will come in handy.

'Recovery run' of sorts. Felt really floaty to start with, but despite taking it extra easy, lack of sleep* caught up with me in the second half.

*Not helped by Man U winning 9-0 last night, and doing Torus very late.
