Sometimes the body really is wondrous - mixture of work and travel meant that I'd slept ~5 hours on average in the last 3 nights, including a 5am get-up this morning to return from a (fun!) 30 year school reunion in Vienna.

So I was absolutely spent when I set off, but lo and behold, the run was broadly fine and even borderline enjoyable. Had planned to set off at a really slow speed and while this was indeed the slowest time ever, it was only just and still not far from 5mpk not counting the climb.

It definitely helped that summer in the UK continues to be cancelled and it was around 14c with a light breeze - am 99% sure in 20+c I would have never got around.

Greenwich Park Race.

Absolutely delightful! Perfect weather (~15c and sunny), good map and course with lots of route choice, and lovely views. Plus I didn't feel too tired, so what's not to like?

Actually the result (12th of 100) while ahead of Abi again by ~1.5 minutes was further behind some other people than I would have liked. Turns out I lost ~1 minute on 2 route choices + I'm just a lot slower than I think I am!

Oh well. Still a great outing. Thanks DFOK!
