Long Race. Havn't run this far in an orienteering race for a loooong time. Had decided to take the track routes as i am so bad at running in green. Probably took this to the extreme and took too many track routes and hardly cut any corners, but the upshot was that i quite enjoyed the run and it wasnt too hard. Still managed to lose quite a few minutes on a few, but was happy to finish. Wasnt really pumped to run very hard, but it would be good to try and get back into shape to be able to 'tackle' these sort of courses a bit more competatively! Great event all round - the organisers and course setters did a sterling job!
NOL Sprint at Newcastle Uni. Really fun course and tricky map! Was reasonably happy, although was very cautious and really when i looked at my map afterwards i was a bit scrappy. Great fun and great weather.

NOL Middle Distance
Had a solid run and was pretty happy. Concentrated on keeping good contact and making sure I went to the right control (ie not forget which one i was up to). Got a tow around the last 3 controls when vanessa caught me 4 mins. Really had to up my pace to keep up - was fun to race around the last few at a real race pace.
Also had a physio appointment with Cathy to try and get some direction on my sore back. Came out armed with lots of exercises and it all seems to stem from my knee reconstructions many years ago, subsequent unstable glutes/hips and not helped by having and looking after 3 kiddlies.
Note
Rob in sydney for work for 3 days....so no real running opportunities.
Morning run with Kathie, up Mt Painter and then around Aranda and Cook

Bluetts West. Cracker day, warm and blue skies. Good course with lots of controls, changes of direction. Didnt find #3 (and didnt spend very long there looking) but perhaps I was too low in the creek (?), Anyhow, got the rest of them fine and it was really fun.
