Runnies 5:30:00 [2]
Woof woof!
All was shaping up for fun adventure. Mummy and her friend were packing lots of kit and food and we headed to the big hills. They were really taking it slow on the first climb but I got a bit of excitement chasing a hare. Sneaky thing got away when it went over the brow of the hill. Still, I've got this animal chasing thing nailed: wait until Mummy gets angry, hang about a bit, then go find her. Bingo! Get a treat to reward me coming back.
Anyway, was all good fun for a while in the wind and rain especially the boulder field downhill. But then when we got to the bottom we weren't at the car. I was confused. We pottered along a nice path but it never seemed to end. Ever. Mummy picked me up because there were some ptarmigan nearby but I really wouldn't have been arsed to go after them anyway. I wished the whole path had been lined with them so that she would have carried me back.
It just got worse by the hour (yes hour). We hit landrover track and Mummy's legs are just so much longer than mine. She just kept chatting to her friend not even thinking of poor little Midgey.
Finally we got back. I don't think I can remember the next hour. I have hazy memories of being picked up and put on a back seat of the car but it's all a bit blurry.
Just collapsed when I got home, couldn't even get up on the sofa. My paw(s) hurt. I'm hungry. I quite like long runs but I think I need more warning next time.
