Running tempo 1:13:03 [4] 11.64 km (6:17 / km) +286m 5:35 / km

After the race the day before I wanted to work on running fast in the bush because that felt like one of the problems I'd had. 1.7km running there and 1.7km running back which took about 8:30 and 10:00 each. That gave 53:30 running for 8.1km with 258m climb. Tried to keep running through tough uneven terrain and thick but there wasn't heaps. Got some climb in which was good but I might have been able to get in a bit more if I planned it better. Next time I should bring a map or something so I'm not just running randomly.

Saturday May 9, 2015 #

Orienteering race 1:22:26 [4] 7.8 km (10:34 / km)

Course with a lot of hill in it. One major chance at the start to chose to go around or over a big hill and then two other legs were going up it was the only choice. The start was fine though I wasn't really in a race mind frame. Coming back near the finish I started making mistakes. 16 I kept trying to get to from the wrong builders which I should have realised was wrong because of the vegetation. 18 and 21 I didn't make myself think after running uphill and getting tired so I lost contact and had trouble relocating. I overran 23 but came back to it alright. Mostly I was slow and had trouble with the hills and running fast.

Friday May 8, 2015 #

Orienteering 56:33 [2] 4.9 km (11:32 / km)

Final night-o. Fairly slow which was annoying since I wanted to run fast for this one. Getting to the area for each control was alright but finding it exactly was pretty difficult. Felt like all the other night-o events.

Thursday May 7, 2015 #

Running intervals 23:12 [5] 5.73 km (4:03 / km)

5 sets of 1km intervals with 1 minute rest. Time was relatively consistent but the first one was a fair bit faster. After that it evened out.

Tuesday May 5, 2015 #

Running tempo 1:10:13 [4] 15.23 km (4:37 / km)

Three sets of 10 minutes slow(ish) then 10 minutes fast with 10 minutes warm down afterwards. First fast 10 was 2.65km, second was 2.57km and third was 2.4km. Fasts felt alright but I could feel (and see) they were getting slower. The slow bits were still and alright pace but they also got slower.
