orienteering race 1:06:00 [4] **** 7.3 km (9:02 / km) +290m 7:33 / km
spiked:15/18c slept:8.0 weight:72kg

State series at Mt Tarrengower
Terrible weather
Had a resonable run. Kept an easy and steady pace, a couple of 1 min mistakes, was pretty happy. But, on the last control, about 50m from the finish, I completely lost it. I made a parallel error and even on relocation I kept misinterpreting the mapping. Lost about 8mins there. Not happy. To make it worse, it started raining in the last 5mins.

orienteering (control pick-up) 10:00 [3]

Picked up a total of two controls in the rain. yippee! According to a certain ex national coach, this constitutes good training. Pffff...

running 1:04:00 [3]
slept:9.0

Ran: Parkville-Carlton gdns- Fitzroy Gdns- MCG- Tan-Swanston St-Parkville. Ran some sections faster than others. So many people on the tan at night.

Really felt like a longer run after being frustratingly stuck in the lab for the last four days, but probably a good idea not to do too much in the first week back running.

Knocked back an entire large super dooper special pizza afterwards.
