9 AM

Biking 30:00 [1] 9.5 km (3:09 / km)

Across the bridge and up the hill to the map site. Slight deviation from the normal route, since there was traffic I took a left turn later than usual.
10 AM

Mapping 6:44:29 intensity: (5:44:29 @0) + (1:00:00 @1) 9.46 km (42:45 / km) +73m 41:10 / km

5 PM

Biking 21:58 [1] 7.29 km (3:01 / km)

Down the hill to the start of the orienteering event from the mapping project.
6 PM

Orienteering 12:44 [3] 3.5 km (3:38 / km)

Coast Mountain Sports Sprint Series - Race 5 - Whitehorse Waterfront.

Wow, I am out of shape and can't run fast at all. I mean, I'm a little slower than if I hadn't mapped for 7 hours today with an hour of biking beforehand, but, that felt really slow. I guess no running for around 4 months and no intervals in like 20 will do that to you.

Two little 5 second bobbles, otherwise clean.

Note: Started my watch late...

Running warm up/down 9:53 [1] 1.49 km (6:39 / km)

7 PM

Biking 5:30 [1] 1.57 km (3:31 / km) +17m 3:20 / km

Sprint race to Afan's. Dinner time.

Note
(rest day)

Rest day to clean up drafting from the past couple of days and to draw a bunch of contours. Feeling a little bit worn out, and feet were starting to hurt somewhat yesterday evening, so figured I'd play it safe and just stretch and roll today.

Mapping 3:21:22 intensity: (2:00:00 @0) + (1:21:22 @1) 5.84 km (34:27 / km) +44m 33:12 / km

Just mapping trails today. Feeling much better about that, need to figure out who I'm classifying vegetation up here still, a problem for later this week.

Stinky Lake - Let's Play Spot the Spider
I didn't actually see the spider when I was taking the picture, only saw it once I got back. Also, some really bad finger smears on the camera lense at the time of this picture.

Biking 13:53 [1] 3.77 km (3:41 / km) +44m 3:29 / km

Mapping to Coaching commute.
5 PM

Orienteering 58:06 intensity: (20:00 @0) + (38:06 @1) 2.79 km (20:48 / km) +69m 18:30 / km

Coaching "yellow squad" kids, from ages 10 to 13, round 1. 11 Kids, two coaches. A lot of people following whoever was in front, lots of talking, but also some kids who are pretty good with their maps.
6 PM

Orienteering 59:34 intensity: (20:00 @0) + (39:34 @1) 2.49 km (23:55 / km) +69m 21:02 / km

Second group after a quick 30 min break, only 9 this time and with three coaches. A far more mellow group, nobody really wanting to lead, but everybody doing well with map reading.
7 PM

Biking 7:00 [3] 2.5 km (2:48 / km)

Got down 2 mile hill, turn into the Canadian Tire parking lot to shortcut to the waterfront trail, and my front tire goes flat. Luckily, Afan was downtown already, so I just caught a ride from him the rest of the way back.

10 AM

Biking 35:00 [1] 9.0 km (3:53 / km)

Riding up to the far end of the map to start mapping. Mostly flat for the first half, then up two mile hill, a bit of flat through Takhini, and then up for another couple of kilometers.
11 AM

Mapping 6:18:38 intensity: (5:00:00 @0) + (1:18:38 @1) 10.44 km (36:15 / km) +167m 33:34 / km

First day of fieldwork on the Yukon College map. Generally pretty nice terrain, but started in an area with a lot of trails, right around a subdivisions tends to have that happen. Makes the map a bit of a mess, will probably end up going back to revise things. Still figuring out vegetation mapping up here too, very different plants/trees/shrubbery. Leaves are just starting to come out on deciduous plants, which makes mapping deciduous areas for leaf on of vegetation I don't really know rather challenging.

Mostly going pretty well though.
5 PM

Note

Short ride downhill to Red Squad from the map.
6 PM

Orienteering 1:04:54 [2] 5.88 km (11:03 / km) +127m 9:58 / km

"Red Squad" training on part of the Mount Mac map. Pretty green map, but very little deadfall so still lots of fun. It is really nice to run on a map that I didn't make, on a course that I didn't set.

Totally skipped #4, but otherwise had a pretty clean run. Got #4 on the way from #14 to #15, since I figured out what I had done at around #9.
8 PM

Biking 20:31 [1] 6.26 km (3:17 / km) +17m 3:14 / km

Ride back to Afan's.

If anyone want's access to my GPS of where I've been, it is restricted to "Just Friends" right now. Let me know if you want to get added to that list, since I have no idea who actually looks at my log and/or is interested in my session location data.
