Run up at the second closest Kelowna Nordic trailhead (where the groomer shed is). There is a gate across the parking lot in summer, but no lock on it - so...
Anyways - the run was mostly on the snowshoe "trails" which in summer have a little bit of tread in some places bu mostly are just ribbons on the odd tree here and there. A little bit difficult to follow in places. Other chunks on the Cross Country ski trail network varying from well-maintained forest service road to rough, uncut, summer meadow.
Gorgeous pine forest about 25-30 years old (I'm not forester, so that's a guess) where you can just start to run underneath the canopy with very little hindrance but the visibility is still pretty low. Absolutely gorgeous.
Orienteering potential is very, very good with about 75% white forest, 20% thicker stuff and 5% open ground or marsh. A scattering of rock and water features, low density trail/road network, and fairly low climb (for around here...). No insanely detailed contour stuff that I saw, but lots of moderate and large contour features.
On a side note - I'm starting to catch a cold with a bit of a sore throat today.
