Swimming (North Sydney Pool) 30:00 [2] 1.0 km (30:00 / km)

Swim with Fel at North Sydney Pool. Cold but so good to get swimming again. Felt really good afterwards and I don't think there is a better place to be doing laps

Orienteering race (ACT Long Champs) 1:20:24 [3] 6.8 km (11:49 / km) +225m 10:09 / km

Went better than yesterday but still never felt like I got into the map or the course, plus my heart just wasn't in it today. Beautiful area and great map as well. I hope I can go back and really enjoy it.

Orienteering race (ACT Middle Champs) 1:12:21 [3] 4.0 km (18:05 / km) +140m 15:24 / km

What can I say.... I thought I could orienteer but I think this run proves otherwise!!! Too many mistakes to write about them all but I worked out probably about 24 minutes of mistakes all up, including finding 3 on the way to 9, when I couldn't even find 3 in the first place. I hope this will never be repeated.

Orienteering race (ACT Sprint Champs) 21:31 [4] 2.8 km (7:41 / km)

Sprint Champs at Kowen Forest. Great little course and fun to have a sprint in the forest with low visability. I couldn't have gone much quicker unless I was fitter and only one little mistake at 12.

Orienteering race (Autumn Series) 44:28 [3] *
shoes: Asics 2130s 2008

Autumn Series at Hunters Hill. Felt really good and ran the whole way. Managed to keep my shoes dry right till the end when I had to cross the oval which was covered in 5cm of water. At least they look used now =)
I think I picked the best possible route and timed it well but the control were pretty close together hence the high score of 440pts. It was the top score when I left but I doubt it lasted long.

Running (Lane Cove Nat Park) 52:18 [3]

run down to lane cove river and back. turned around at 25 min. I felt better on the way back than the way down despite having to battle it up the hill at the end.

Monday Apr 21, 2008 #

Running (Kincumber Mtn) 34:00 [3]
shoes: Asics 2130s 2008

Kincumber Mtn run but I didn't go all the way to the top because its started pouring with rain and my ankles were sore (i hope it not the new shoes).
i didnt have a watch either so the time is a bit of an estimate....
gosh i'm full of excuses aren't i!!!

Running (Kincumber Mtn Run) 44:38 [3]

Run up Kincumber Mtn with the ipod. Went to the lookout at the top for the first time in a while. Gosh were my calves feeling it. 25.50 to the top. Tried to push it and get some speed up coming back down. Felt really good at the end.

Sprint Course with the Juniors at the camp on a nice little bush map near singleton. Fun and fast but gosh do I need to get fitter. Karen and Russell are doing a GREAT job with the squad. I hope some more stingers will be able to make other camps, especially the Christmas camp.... its sounds fun!

Jog around the streets in Lindfield again.

Orienteering race (Autumn Series) 45:04 [3]

Autumn Series at Kissing Point. Ages since I have done a summer series type race and it was extra fun at night. Although I might change my tactics next time and stick to the streets, finding controls on the corner of public toilets in random sydney parks at night all alone can be scary, more streets next time.
320 points. Should have got more but i got caught in marshy, pond, embankment section in the dark going to a 30 pointer. It was mapped yellow and flat on the map so I assumed it was just a sports field or the like but no !! Wimped out and turned around back to the streets.

Note

We were already to go for a run from Mt Wilson before heading back to the coast but silly Jose checked his messages, and we were straight in the car to the airport to pick up some chilean friends from the airport. You gotta love chileans ideas of giving a little notice =)
Played tour guide for the next two days.....

Canyoning (Twister and Rocky Creek) 3:30:00 [2] 4.0 km (52:30 / km)

Amazing day canyoning at Newnes!!! So so beautiful, but f#$'ing freezing. The coldest I have ever been in a canyon. No abseils but some cool fun jumps and slippery slides.

I 'm not sure how canyoning hours fit into AP but I'm logging it anyway! Total time: 5 hours including walk in and out.

Thursday Apr 3, 2008 #

Running tempo 46:00 [3] 8.0 km (5:45 / km)
shoes: Asics GT2110

Morning run from terrigal beach on the trotter's flat 10km time trial route. Cheated a bit and didn't go to the turn around point and took a short cut on the way back. ... so i reckon only did about 8k or so. Was getting to my limit going up the hill to Terrigal at the end. Good start to the training though.... next time i won't cheat.

Note

I have a new appreciation of being the only person on a beach (as compared to Bangladesh)!!! ... where have all the people gone??? a gorgeous morning at terrigal beach.
