Wanted to do a 20km run before the half marathon to know I could make the last 5-6k without dying. Also wanted to do it somewhere where I could sort of track my time so did 4 laps of the bridge to bridge loop around lake bg. Tried to stay steady and wanted to do under 2hours. the last 5km did hurt but I know I can do it now.I want to do it a bit quicker in the race so we'll see...still 3 wks to go. Laps were:

Saturday event on Bruce ridge. Feeling stronger but the hills still get me really bad. Such a beautiful day and no mistakes thank goodness as I had been to almost all the control sites before!

10x1 min intervals with 1 min recoveries on the steets of nth lyneham towards kaleen. The times were a but rough because I couldn't see my watch in the dark but defintely more time going fast than slow especially in the dark bits.

Felt good tonight. Full medium set and close to 5min/km pace - which I'm happy with.
2x 1200m 6:10, 6:20 (300 easy) then

Lap of Bruce ridge in the arvo with Ria, jose and frank. Learnt how to make paneer from Ria - yum.

Mona fartlek on the ridge after a bad end to the week training wise- I will do better next week. I will do better next week.

Saw heaps of magpies which isn't a good sign for spring.

Medium set 4x800 with 200 easy then 4x400 with 100 easy. Tried to run hard in solidarity with everyone running the woc sprint qual on at the same time.

Ride around Bruce ridge with Ria and frank in the arvo. Such a beautiful day today so it was great to get out again. Rode in shorts and tshirt. Legs were tired though.

Ride at stromlo with Ria. Lots of fun but felt very slow and unco at the start. Ria gave me some good tips for the switchbacks which I was struggling on.

Legs feel fine after the massage but my upper back was killing me this morning. Maybe it's in shock from being forced into an unusual relaxed state......

Bit of an eventful one today. Firstly got Jose to come out to hells gates and back and Mr speedy 'i can't run for that long' zapata was ahead of me the whole way. Then we ran into Kate from bilbies also on holidays in noosa. Then we found somewhere that has campos coffee and then I finally got to check out the $5 croissant and coffee deal that we've walked passed everyday - yes it's a bargin. Very tired today - may have something to do with going out late last night drinking cocktails to celebrate rachel and Andrews engagement!!!!!

Through the noosa Nat park which was beautiful. I can't add up though because I thought the loop I was doing was 9k but it was only 7 so I had to do a bit extra before I headed home back over the hill.

Down to the national park and then a Mona fartlek on the Nat park tracks. Started pouring with rain just as I was finishing the ints.

10x1min with 1 min recoveries along the beach and river at noosa. Didn't get rid of my ear / headache like I was hoping it would.

Down to the beach and over into the national park with Jose to check out noosa. Turned around at boiling point as it was getting dark. Nice sun set.
