Saturday Feb 10 #

Note
(rest day)

Ended up taking the day off of running and yoga. Feeling very stuffed up in the head and sinuses. Super fatigued and achey. Just trying to recover before tomorrow.

Friday Feb 9 #

5 AM

Running 30:00 [3] 6.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Multi Colour Hoka

Easy jog with the dogs this morning. No issues other than feeling tired. Some bruising on my left shin bone, I think from Dr. Nagai working on it. Iced after. TGIF.

Thursday Feb 8 #

5 AM

Running 1:00:00 [3] 12.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Multi Colour Hoka

Took things easy and slow this morning with the dogs. It was mild outside and the coastal trail was quiet so I felt comfortable running all the way to Lover's Point. No issues or pain, just some nice easy running.

I need to start waking up earlier for these runs to fit some strength work in.

Saw Dr. Nagai after school today. He worked on my upper back and right shoulder and really dug into my left calf... ouch...

Wednesday Feb 7 #

4 AM

Running 30:00 [3] 6.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Multi Colour Hoka

Easy jog with the dogs this morning. It was nice - shins weren't too bad and the dogs were cooperating. We'll see how they feel for our longer run tomorrow morning.

Rolled and iced after.
5 PM

Running intervals 1:00:00 [3] 12.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Multi Colour Hoka

PreAct
20WU, 20 min of 3:30/0:30, 20 CD
p&s, stretch, rope, roll, ice

Notes: This started off sluggish. I felt like I could fall asleep standing up by the end of the day, but once I got through warm up, things started to wake up for me. Pushed hard on all sets and stayed focused throughout. I know I was working hard because I pushed on the last set and really didn't have anything left to give my legs. Success.

Tuesday Feb 6 #

4 AM

Running 19:00 [3] 3.8 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Multi Colour Hoka

Easy shake with the dogs. Again shins are sore, but only after running.
4 PM

Hiking 45:00 [3] 4.5 km (10:00 / km)

Nice little hike with the dogs after work. Shins were sore so needed the recovery and since Dillon is away, I needed to be out with the dogs. Feeling a bit under the weather - hoping I'm not coming down with something.

Monday Feb 5 #

5 AM

Running 18:00 [3] 3.6 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Multi Colour Hoka

Easy shake with the dogs. I thought my legs would be more fatigued, but they felt surprisingly fresh this morning. Shins are tight now - need to get some better footwear for during the day at school.
4 PM

Running tempo 1:01:00 [3] 12.2 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Multi Colour Hoka

PreAct
20 WU, 2x 10 min @ tempo, with 1 rec, 20 CD
p&s, stretch, rope, roll, ice

Notes: Tough workout today. Legs were heavy and shins were sore but once things got moving I felt strong and smooth. Had to keep checking in with breathing and effort to make sure everything was in control but at the line at the same time. Happy with the effort.

Sunday Feb 4 #

1 PM

Pool 45:00 [3] 4.5 km (10:00 / km)

6 minute kicking warm up
Alternating swimming and DWR to 45 minutes
ass class, stretch, rope, roll, ice

Notes: Legs are dead from yesterday. Really felt it in the hip flexors and quads today. Good effort in the pool today.
