Virtual Half Marathon:

The goal today was to run a half marathon as part of the virtual series to guarantee entry into the United Airlines NYC Half Marathon next year. Ran 2 miles to GAP, 8.1 miles of park loops with Sara, then joined up with PPTC pizza run for the last 5 miles. Ended up doing about 24 km all together in 2:15. The toughest part of this wasn't necessarily the distance, but all the starting and stopping due to meeting up with different groups, and then at traffic intersections. Definitely rolling and icing throughout the day. This was more of a long run just for the distance and not for time, but happy with effort either way :)

Notes: Woo... this was tough. Legs were still feeling sore and heavy from Tuesday so every part of this *felt* hard. Pushed right to the end on the tempos, and was hands on knees after the last set. Cool down was so slow. Overall happy with the effort when things were tough.

Recovery day run with the dogs. Ouch - legs were sore and heavy and shins on both sides were sore. Pain eased away as I ran but definitely feeling last night's workout

Notes: I was happy to be doing km repeats tonight. Wasn't sure where I fit in or what my toes should be so stuck with the fastest girl for the first set, ran on my own for the second set and for the 3rd and 4th another girl was in front for me to chase but I was always able to catch and pass with 2 laps to go. Definitely ran all out for the last set and was hands on knees. Very happy with the effort and pushing to just get more and more speed.

Nice loop after sampling Endurance Tap alternative to Gu. Basically like drinking maple syrup before a run which was... different. Felt like a decent off day effort and enjoyed Dillon's company. Rolled out after.

Notes: Practiced running the route for the virtual half marathon that I'm leading next Saturday. Just did 8 miles today to round out the mileage and workouts. Run today started out sluggish and heavy but picked up after about 20 minutes and finished really strong.
