Saturday Mar 23 #

Note
(rest day)

Took the day off - super tired feeling rough

Friday Mar 22 #

5 AM

Running 16:00 [3] 3.2 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Cumulus20 Skylight/White

Tired this morning but legs felt surprisingly decent. Didn't run very long - it was pouring rain and the dogs just kept trying to turn around on me, so I gave in and went back earlier than usual.

Thursday Mar 21 #

5 AM

Running 25:00 [3] 5.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Cumulus20 Skylight/White

Easy morning shake with the dogs. The temperature was perfect and we made it back home before the rain started. Lots of club members out, which made it feel really safe out there. Little bit of shin pain after but aiming to just keep rolling and icing it out. Hopefully workout at the end of the day today.
7 PM

Running tempo 47:00 [3] 9.4 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Cumulus20 Skylight/White

20WU, 3 x 5 @ tempo, 1 rec, 10CD
p&s, stretch, rope, roll, ice

Notes: Today was one of those days where I wanted to stay in, but am happy I went out. Convinced Dillon to run with me. We were hoping to catch some PPTCers out on the loop, but nobody showed up. First set at tempo was fast and crisp, but also hard to gauge effort because it started on a downhill. The second set was on a rolling terrain. I made sure to push the line and may have crossed it a few times, resulting in feeling really out of breath by the end of the set. The last set was uphill and into the wind. I kept imagining it was the last km of a race and pumped the arms but definitely settled more than I wanted to. Legs were heavy for cool down. Looking forward to a recovery day tomorrow.

Wednesday Mar 20 #

8 AM

Running 25:00 [3] 5.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Cumulus20 Skylight/White

Slow and easy morning shake out with the dogs. Shins were all kinds of sore today and legs were still feeling yesterday's workout. Keeping things minimal today to allow some recovery. Back to work tomorrow.
4 PM

Yoga 45:00 [3]

Power yoga at home. Definitely feeling a bit weak and the need to stretch out more. Will make this a habit!

Tuesday Mar 19 #

9 AM

Running 25:00 [3] 5.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Cumulus20 Skylight/White

Morning shake out with the dogs. I thought I would be sore, but legs felt great. Hoping to continue the freshness for this afternoon's workout!
3 PM

Running intervals 45:00 [3] 9.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Cumulus20 Skylight/White

PreAct
15 WU, 15 minutes of 2:30/0:30 steady/surge, 15 CD
p&s, stretch, rope, roll, ice

Notes: Great workout today! Super focused and in the moment. Pushed hard through every interval and didn't give up when things felt tough. Made sure the transitions between surge back to steady for crisp. Very happy with the effort and the direction workouts are going.

Monday Mar 18 #

5 AM

Running 25:00 [3] 5.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Cumulus20 Skylight/White

Early morning shake out with the dogs. Winston was in a chipper mood but Ruby wanted to go back to bed. Will do another shake out later today to tire them out before my conference call.
2 PM

Running 25:00 [3] 5.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Cumulus20 Skylight/White

Second loop with the dogs in an effort to add a little mileage, and to make them sleepy before my next interview. Shins are a little sore so will ice them throughout the evening in preparation for tomorrow's workout.

Sunday Mar 17 #

7 AM

Running 20:00 [3] 4.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Cumulus20 Skylight/White

Ran 20 minutes super slow and easy with the pups this morning. Legs weren't especially sore - but heavy. Went to cheer on Dillon for the NYC Half Marathon.
