I was a little tired going in to today - pretty sure I'm still hurting from that hill ride & tempo on Tues - but felt good, solid energy. Game plan was to stay relaxed for the first half (6km climb) & start building into the last 2k of climbing, then hammer the last 4k as much as possible. Hard parts easy, easy parts hard. I feel like I executed pretty well. Let people rush by in the first km, then reeled them in the rest of the race. I was alone from about km 3-5, which was tough, but always catching people. Caught another girl around 5k, worked with her to reel in some guys & another woman, & dropped the people I was with at about 2km to go. Didn't know if I could hang on for the last 2k, but wanted to try. Ended up getting tangled up in some 5km runners in the last k - slow!

Overall, great race effort, stupid hot conditions but great run today. Super happy with how deep I was able to dig.

Felt pretty wiped at the start of long run (super slow start) but built into it & felt good by the end. R ankle really sore, L achilles sore, sacrum feels locked.

Yoga really helped with all of that!

Felt pretty tired getting up, but after 20min of running my body started to wake up. After 30 I felt totally awesome, lots of energy. Not a ton of punch in the legs tho...still feeling Tuesday's hill ride I think.

It was hella cold jumping in - wetsuit next time might be a good idea - but warmed up through drills. Loved the DWR at the end into the middle of the lake. No part of me wanted to do this, but it actually felt awesome.

I was in such a weird mood all day, but this ran it all out. First interval was really tough, just trying to hang on to Tash. Second one felt better, more rolly & able to push into it a little & stay with her the last 4min. Last one felt awesome & awful, working up to push that edge of tempo breathing. The last 2min were sooo long but I felt so good for doing it.

The tempo gremlin sitting on the back of my bike was so real. Not sure my legs are part of my body any more...Didn't take enough time to recharge between tempo & this - needed more food in the body, but felt super nauseous & lightheaded. Had a lot of trouble eating between.

Hills felt good and horrible, the second one was super tough...after riding all the way down it was hilariously awful to ride all the way back up & past. Tough ride for sure & the heat didn't help.
