Good weather for a long run with a tiny bit of light drizzle. Went round the Mt then past Oakey Hill. Was a good way to whet my appetite for a nice dinner out with Elise at Courgette. Taking advantage of Sam being away on school holiday camp.

Orchard Rd, Kowen Forest

First real forest race since Swiss O week last year. I did do a Canberra summer series race and one race in Melbourne Sprint weekend in the bush since then but nothing else.

I stuck with the long course and was glad I did. Made it around ok although pretty slowly. I did walk one big hill and a few walking steps in some other tough places. A few 30 second errors which was poor for this (easy) area but expected with my rustiness. Also struggled in the bits where there was timber on the ground, again not a surprise.

Sam was happy and went ok - he had a few long legs with route choice which was a new experience for him.
