Knee improved a lot in one day. Decided to test it out with a few laps of the pond. It was sore but bearable - just bad bruising below the kneecap on the outer side.

Sam came with me and lasted about 1 and a bit laps (700m) before he stopped and started petting a cat he hadn't seen before. He admitted he's not really into running.

One of my worst o experiences ever I think. Came in shorts and runners expecting mainly streets and parks. Instead the first half of the course was all long grass, scrub and thistles. Made some terrible mistakes on orange standard controls, the map had me completely confused at times. Tripped and hit my knee on a rock about a third of the way around, it wasn't too bad though blood was flowing all the way down my leg to my sock. The last part was all streets and parks, by this stage I'd had enough though I still pushed fairly hard (which was still pretty slow).

No warm down, knee was too sore. Icing it this evening.

First day back at work after a week off. Went into the office because we had tradies at home. I had hoped to run at lunchtime but barely managed a 30min break so had to wait until I got home.

Was a bit of a struggle but felt a bit better as time went on. Definitely a step up from my runs earlier in the week.

7 x 60s (60s). Was supposed to be a longer session but I still felt bad after yesterday. Really struggled to even do 7 repeats.

Note

Going down the coast was great for running. Nice beaches and trails and most importantly, it's just different.

Of course once you get home, the usual runs around local parks and streets are even more boring than usual.

Up the creek and back along Ginninderra Dr.

I had planned a longer run but felt terrible both mentally and physically. Lucky to manage 40 min in the end. It was quite humid, felt more like Brisbane than Canberra.
