Hagaby.
First use of the main part of Fiddlers Green, two years after the map was finished. I put a lot of effort into making the map compliant with the new mapping specification. Bit of a disappointment hearing that some think the map needs remapping. Australian orienteers expect their gold mining to be mapped with the specifications of the 1990s. Reduced symbol sizes, no minimum lengths or minimum distances. The mapper has a choice - map to specification and risk his local reputation, or map according to local taste and produce maps that are irrelevant to the sport at higher levels.
Now for the positives, and they are pretty positive. Great fun course from Jim. Made good use of the features, including a few areas that were overlooked in the previous map. And, I managed to last the distance, which surprised me. Quite sore at the end, but kept going. Only two mistakes, both on the only controls which I could remember from the mapping. Stuffed one. The other one I actually hadn't remembered it. And proceeded to go where I had remembered.
