Running long 1:19:50 [3] 12.75 km (6:16 / km) +285m 5:38 / km
shoes: Asics Trail

Run with Ilka through No. 7, Marne Ridge and back along Crusoe Dam. I struggled to keep up with her, and in her cruelty she kept up a continuous conversation the whole way, and I was expected to be an active conversationalist. Yes, huff, Ilka, puff.

Real Orienteering race (Mandurang) 56:49 [3] *** 7.91 km (7:11 / km) +180m 6:27 / km
spiked:11/11c shoes: Nike Trail

6.7k straight line.
After a half-day sickie yesterday, I probably should have chosen not to run. But I woke up feeling better than yesterday, and the sky was blue, and it was Mandurang.
The good to come of the decision to run... I took it relatively easy and spiked all 11 controls. The only error was on one of the longer legs when I chose to go down the less than optimal gully and probably cause myself 2 or 3 extra contours of climb.
The 'bad' was the recurring nose bleed from 25 minutes to about 40 minutes. I lessened the pace as a result. I looked a treat back at the finish with a blood red 'moustache'. I probably looked even better on the course, spitting up blood while running. It looks serious but I've been in that condition more than once before and lived to tell the tale.

Easy run being Monday. Still, it revealed how far I have to go for October.
