Back, core and achilles 20:00 [1]

Short form still
11 AM

Running 46:39 [3] 7.8 km (5:59 / km) +55m 5:47 / km
shoes: New Balance 620s

Gateway Park return. Took ten minutes for back to loosen up. Took 30 minutes for achilles to tighten up. In between is the 20 minute "window of running opportunity".

Back, core and achilles 20:00 [1]

Still taking it easy on some of the core work because of my back.
2 PM

Running 45:15 [2] 7.1 km (6:22 / km) +25m 6:16 / km
shoes: New Balance 620s

Two Ressy circuit. Still find it hard to run here without feeling grumpy about access hassles. But on the good side, I managed 45 minutes (with quite a few breaks in the run).

Back, core and achilles 20:00 [1]

Cut back on some of the routine as back a little tender again...
7 PM

Running hills 12:00 [3] 1.8 km (6:40 / km) +180m 4:27 / km
shoes: Innov-8

Guilt eventually overcame lethargy. Six Honeysuckle hills.

Running warm up/down 12:00 [2] 1.8 km (6:40 / km)

Descents

Running 26:30 [2] 4.6 km (5:46 / km) +45m 5:30 / km
shoes: Saloman silly lace shoes

Slow struggle around the Dodder Track. Sad indicator of state of affairs. Another camp for someone living rough, and heaps of rubbish dumped elsewhere.

Back, core and achilles 15:00 [1]

Couldn't do all the exercises due to extremely sore back. Lack of running is having its normal effect... back problems.
No ride to work today either. That was not going to be sensible. Might have to drop the riding and work on back and achilles and forgetting all about aerobic matters for now.

(injured)

Back issues

Sometimes I can smile reading about others with similar injuries in the injury log. I think this is the classic for Achilles tendonopathy.... wait till the last sentence!

"I caused my injuries by running home, not in running shoes, severly pissed after a work party in the middle of nowhere at which noone was in any condition to drive!. At first it was inspirational, It was pissing cats and dogs, I was invincible, the 15km hilly run was a piece of piss and was going to be the start of my comback. (did I mention I was quite inebriated). Boy were my calves tight the next day!!!!!! What a dumb ass! Spent the next 2 1/2 years trying to sort out both achilles......"

Always someone worse off!
1 PM

Running 25:18 [2] 4.5 km (5:37 / km) +20m 5:30 / km
shoes: Saloman silly lace shoes

Time to run, though very slowly and carefully, and for only a short while. Back felt better after 15 minutes. Achilles felt worse after 15 minutes. Back requirement wins.

6 PM

MTB (Not O) 26:00 [2]

So sick of that instrument of discomfort the bike seat.
7 PM

Running hills 9:03 [4] 1.5 km (6:02 / km) +80m 4:46 / km
shoes: Innov-8

If I am limited to 20 minutes every second day, hills seems the most efficient means of achieving something from next to nothing.
5* Honeysuckle

Running warm up/down 9:00 [2] 1.5 km (6:00 / km)

5 descents.
Did I mention that at one point I was out of breath running downhill?
