Real Orienteering race 1:01:44 [3] 7.64 km (8:05 / km) +175m 7:15 / km
shoes: Salamon Speed Cross 4 Black

Bush event number 42.
Wasn't looking forward to this, but had to go as the cancellation of the following event brought forward our control collection duties (for Ilka who is setting on Tarrengower). The day was so pleasant, the terrain open and we both chose to do course 1. Enjoyed it after the first minute. Some lovely subtle spur gully terrain.

Running 25:00 [2] 2.5 km (10:00 / km) +40m 9:16 / km
shoes: Salamon Speed Cross 4 Black

Collecting six controls, one of which had already been collected. Wasted some time going up and down a scrubby gully looking carefully for something that wasn't there.

Test running moderate and easy courses for end of year hagaby/relay. Map changes and course changes as a result.

Test run of the long course for the Hagaby/Relay event at the end of the season. Despite knowing the terrain better than anyone, I made three mistakes. I also gave up at the map changeover, deciding to leave the sceond (and thankfully shorter) final loop for another time.
Pleased with the course so far, other than a concern it may be a little too long. Plausible route choice options on seven of ten legs.
Pleased at finally running three days in a row, even if the runs were somewhat slow and not too long. First time in seven weeks. Coming out of the virus after-effects finally. I have only limited expectations of regaining any fitness by Bathurst.
