Tarilta Creek (aka Mt Franklin Gorge). 5.3 SL
Lovely open terrain. Surprisingly enjoyable weather as long as you kept running. Paid for the longer course yesterday. Was really really slow for the first few controls. Body thought Saturday's course was enough. Tried the straight line technique again. No mistakes, but probably less optimal than yesterday. Julie took the wide option on a couple of legs and won each of them. In the end I was 10 minutes ahead of her, but she lost nine minutes on two legs with mistakes. Hoping one day she gets past the mistakes. Then I will have my work cut out.

Real Orienteering race (Lyell Forest South) 1:08:33 [3] *** 8.14 km (8:25 / km) +190m 7:32 / km

Pilchers Bridge Central (Once Lyell Sth). 7.6k SL.
Did the longest course for the weekly long run. Wasn't expecting to get to the Sunday SS event. Tried to stay on the red line the whole way. Only one minor error on control 9. Where I had drifted to the left a little. Accurate red lining significantly reduces the difficulty of relocating.

(rest day)

Still recovering from massage.

Note

Deep massage on recalcitrant pyriformis. Made going to the dentist seem an attractive alternative.
