Warm up jog-walk to start. Brutal.

The test I was worried about. But got through without too much pain. A little PF soreness in heels. Only one error. Its easier to navigate when you are slow. So two thirds of the way through the field at 21st. Nostalgia for the days when I had a reasonable expectation of being in the top ten.

Oceania Sprint at CSU. Survived without aggravation of calf.
Spiked all controls, but not always with the best route. Took until fourth control to settle into map. Mediocre result as was to be expected.

Note

Looking back over the log, you could say I have been tapering for the carnival for the last ten weeks. Its that long since I was able to run on consecutive days any distance over a kilometre. Ten runs in ten weeks for a total distance of 28 kilometres. Longest has been 6 k. Shortest has been 500 metres.

Had to stop and walk home just after passing 5k mark. Obviously my calf issues are not solved, merely being managed. Not at all hopeful for any carnival event longer than 4k. I think some of the mid-week events will be walks.
