Running tempo 1:00:20 [4] 12.6 km (4:47 / km) +26m 4:44 / km
ahr:144 max:151 shoes: Nike Free (Outdoor)

Half an hour jog with jess and then a 15min temp with her on the bike and a 15min cool down. Felt good. Form feeling good still - can probably push a lot harder in the tempo as I didn't seem to get my HR up as high as it's been in the past... or else I'm just getting fitted....I live in hope.

In an outrageous turn of events the whole family ran out of the door for a 'Hoog Trott' as i like to call it. We accompanied mummy on her 4x5min run with 2min walks as our warm up.

Dad, emily and i set off on the Hoog Train to do a 30min fartlek session. Efforts between 2-4mins with a slow recovery. Felt absolutely fine and actually sort of enjoyed it.

Running tempo (Parkrun) 18:56 [5] 5.0 km (3:47 / km)
ahr:141 max:183 shoes: Nike Free (Outdoor)

Cheeky little Christmas Day Parkrun PB
18:56!! 30secs faster than this time last year!!

Was of course wearing my lovely elfin red and white long socks so looking particularly odd but wanted to see what my legs could do especially after yesterday's tempo.

Went off at a fair lick but it felt easy and was just chatting along to Mabel who had a very annoying bell on her christmas hat.. Continued round at pretty much even splits and managed not to drop off on the third km as i normally do. Legs felling good, breathing feeling easy - looking good!

Was increds windy down the right hand straight and we made the mistake of not tucking in behind people the first time round so were buffeted around a bit. Bruce and Sam caught us up at about 3.5km and we ran around it a little four after that - continuing at the original pace but picking up slightly now. With 1km to go i decided it was time for a kick and Sam came with me, pushing me to actually end in a sprint finish. Lost Mabes and Bruce but they finished not far off us and were basically not out of breath which is typical!

Once i stopped my watch i was incredibly surprised to see the time - had thought we were on for about 19:30 which i would have been pleased with but a sub 19 was a lovely little surprise. Didn't feel particularly dead and felt like i maintained my form right to the final sprint which is positive. Would be v interested to see what i can get down to after a period of speed training!

Merry Christmas from a very happy Anna!
