Joined sydney for freeletics for the first time in a long time. I decided it was detrimental to my running training for my ultra. Now that’s over so time to pick it up. Not much time but boy did it hurt.

Started out going pretty well for the first few, although everything was coming up faster than i expected - probably a result of being on 1:24 last week! Had some trouble when I got to 43, it was above the reentrant and I didnt see it from in the reentrant, so I did a loop to the next reentrant over, and then saw it just as I decided to bail. Continued S without too many problems. I passed syd around the halfway point, and thought she might be just barely ahead of me. After I made the turn I started bobbling far too many controls. I think the heat was getting to me, i felt fine but just couldnt really think straight. Then I got messed up on the rides and trails on my way to 46 and spent far too long in the completely wrong area, convincing myself that things matched when they obviously didnt. This was my downfall. I eventually got myself straightened out, but didnt have the energy to finish overly strong. I still came in 2nd place, but 20 minutes behind syd - oof! Still a fun day in the woods. Thanks to NEOOC of providing an early summer event in not-to-thick woods!
