Orienteering race 1:49:20 [3] ** 7.5 mi (14:35 / mi) +380m 12:36 / mi
40c shoes: Speedcross 4 - Black

WPOC 120 min score-o at Pine Ridge. We arrived late and I spent all of 5 min planning my route. It seemed like a lot of controls for 2 hours, but it was a small map, so I drew a route that hit them all. The race went pretty smoothly overall. I wasn't really in the right mindset with arriving late and I did not do a very good job of navigating to the flag. I was in the mode of run in the right direction and look for the flag. With everything so close together that worked fine, I just had a lot of small inefficiencies in the circle. One mistake on 42 - overran it slightly before correcting off of a trail. Cleared the course with time to spare. Accidentally paused my watch partway through, so distance is approximate. Beautiful day to be out in the woods!

Note

I'm going to take it easy for a week or so. I have a lingering cough that I would like to shake and I need some time to mentally recover after our recent bout of racing. I'm thinking about goals for next year and I want to put together a training plan for this winter.
