More beautiful lakes and incredible wildflowers everywhere! High point today was 8440'. Camped at an overlook above the stream, with ten foot tall granite boulders above a cliff. Woke up twice during the night, once to listen to the coyotes howling at the rising moon, and another time when a pine tree crashed in the forest, luckily not too close by! Miles = 15.1 on trail and 1.4 rock scrambling and photography wandering.

Day 2 TTYR
A beautiful warm day with blue sky, nice trail, carpets of colorful wildflowers everywhere, and just a handful of other people hiking. Climbed two mountain passes and hiked by several scenic lakes. Camped in a grassy meadow near a clear snowmelt lake, where I have previously snowcamped in the winter. High point at 9640'. Miles = 15.2 on trail and 3.2 rock scrambling above the two passes to see the panoramic vistas.

An evening climb up the "Secret Trail" which apparently really is a secret because there are not signs of much travel. This is my first time up this trail, and I lost the trail a few times but by following the natural terrain features found it again. Beautiful sunset with lavender alpenglow on the hillsides and the lake a shimmery slate blue.
