A nice lunch break outing. At my usual stream crossing, you can usually ski about 10 feet down the bank, cross the snow covered stream, then climb 10 feet back up the far bank, Now the snow at the stream crossing has completely melted out and it is too muddy and icy to cross. So I found a good looking snow bridge downstream. It was about three feet wide, with a snow depth of one foot, and no logs to provide structural integrity. Coyote tracks crossed the bridge, but would it hold a skier? I tested the snow with my pole and it felt solid, and Yes I easily skied across.
