Climb up to the crest with Tom and Rosalie, then scramble over to South Lake for a swim. Black anvil-shaped thunderheads gave ominous warnings of possible stormy weather. Just as we finished swimming, lightning started flashing and thunder booming. We decided to head back the long way through the forest along the mountainside to stay below the ridge. It sprinkled on us very slightly, but we finished up before the rain started pouring.
