Climb to the summit of Sun Peak (elevation 8290'), enjoy the panoramic views, then return the long way home. Many wildflowers are still abloom, the most vibrant being the soft pink Silene acaulis, brilliant orange-red Castilleja miniata, lavender Polemonium viscosum (Sky Pilot), and scarlet trumpets of Ipomopsis aggregata.
