Orienteering race (BOK Galoppen Cannop Ponds) 1:10:57 intensity: (10 @0) + (18 @1) + (52 @2) + (24:04 @3) + (43:20 @4) + (2:13 @5) 7.23 km (9:49 / km) +182m 8:43 / km

Knackered. Nav OK with only real loss of time at 8, ditches very confusing, couldn't find ditch junction attack point and was too busy looking for that rather than looking for control site.... ran out of steam between 10 and 11. Boars have churned up the forest so badly in this area that I was at times carrying an extra few inches of mud around on my shoes.... enjoyed the courses, but need to get fitter...

Swimming (Lake swim) 4:00 [3] 0.14 km (28:34 / km)

Water temp 3 degrees. Felt cold before getting in water turned around just before swim limit as realised I was swimming with the wind, and was concerned the swim back might take longer.... it was ok but quite happy to keep it short today.

Orienteering race (QOAD Staple Hill) 1:03:59 intensity: (13 @0) + (15 @1) + (47 @2) + (9:18 @3) + (46:48 @4) + (6:38 @5) 5.85 km (10:56 / km) +242m 9:04 / km

Enjoyed it, reasonable nav, terrible score tactics! Went for reds first and headed through two easy controls to the high pointers, missing quite a few medium score controls on the way. Sort of committed to that, but should have abandoned reds and switched to blue earlier rather than getting totally bogged down at North end of map and losing a lot of time.... from then on had to choose to go back via medium point blues or go get the 50 pointer, chose wrongly to do that... oh well. Felt tired after Thursday and don't feel great overall, so will see whether I run tomorrow at Cannop Ponds or not.

Run (TACH Rose & Crown Wick) 1:44:15 intensity: (14 @0) + (1:07 @1) + (10:10 @2) + (34:00 @3) + (49:54 @4) + (8:50 @5) 13.2 km (7:54 / km) +354m 6:58 / km

First TACH Thursday run went with long group to see what it'd be like. Pace fine, didn't feel out of place at all. Nice group of people, only downside was long waits to get over styles & through gates. Will definitely go again though, enjoyed it. Nice to go a bit longer than on a Tuesday night, made up for the big group complicating styles etc.

Run (BOK Angel Inn Long Ashton) 1:01:59 intensity: (14 @0) + (9 @1) + (1:38 @2) + (29:01 @3) + (21:37 @4) + (9:20 @5) 9.03 km (6:52 / km) +240m 6:04 / km

New route from the Angel, 2 newcomers on the run too which was nice. A little slower and shorter than usual but no harm in that. Ifor added up and down the Zig Zags for Michael, Gavin and me to a bit of extra distance and pace to catch back up again.
