Orienteering race (BOK Yoxter Green) 38:44 intensity: (26 @0) + (14 @1) + (9 @2) + (2:33 @3) + (24:10 @4) + (11:12 @5) 5.59 km (6:56 / km) +56m 6:36 / km

Superb fun, great course, great area. Overshot 1 as completely missed earthbank, bounced back on sight of fence. Knew I was in the area so didn't rush about. Otherwise relatively clean once I got into the map. Couldn't have asked for more fun on a Saturday morning!

Orienteering (WNL Yoxter) 1:08:53 intensity: (1 @1) + (4:59 @3) + (51:07 @4) + (12:46 @5) 8.19 km (8:25 / km) +130m 7:47 / km

Could anything have been more fun than the morning? YES! Yoxter at night in the mist! Visibility down to about 5m in places with headtorch shining back at you. I wore it for running and carried it when thought i was in circle and going slower. Doing fine until I veered too far left looking for 4 (only a 10 pointer!) and was reluctant to move on until I knew exactly where I was. I had forgotten to start my watch at the beginning, remembering 3 minutes in. Unfortunately I forgot that I had forgotten, so when I was thinking of my turn around point I was actually a lot further in than I thought and instead of 30 mins to get back I had 27 mins. Stuck it out round the edge and picked up the high pointers then worked my way back via 15, 24 and 27 (should have skipped 15) and then 8, 1 and 19 which were practically on the way. Ended up being 11 mins and 31 seconds late so 116 penalty points off of a pretty decent score of 375. But still happy with that!

Charles Daniel planning a Night Event on Yoxter? Like Salty Licourice and Ice Cream to make Salty Licourice Ice Cream. Charles, I know we disagree on this point but believe me you don't get much higher praise from me!!

Windy night, went with the wind along the coast, then back through town and up over hill and back along coast with the wind. Found the big uphill tough going and had to occasionally break into a walk. With only Ifor and Rachel out running there were fewer chances to catch a breath than I am used to!

Slow up and down the hills (too steep so knackered going up, timid going down!!) but navigationally solid. A few minor mistakes, and a few sub-optimal route choices, but never lost contact with map. Was over 10 mins behind Clare so need to work on my fitness/motivation!
