Went for 11x first as could see a fairly good route... 110, 115, 113, along path to 111, then back across to 116, 112 and down to 114. Switched to 10x 104, 103 decided to skip 105 and 106 so just 102, 108, 101 and turn over at 107 as at top of map and close to 127 on other side. 127, 125, 120 (overshot and had to come back from path) then 122, 121 and 124 to turn over in quarry. 15 mins left so 133, 135, 134, running out of time across to 131, missed it too high and then planned to go for 136 but ran so off bearing ended on path near 130 so changed plan. Didnt find 130, and gave up to run home but caught sight of it out of corner of eye. 24 controls and just back within the hour. Pleased with result, same as Rhys and Clare.

Day started poorly as it took 2hrs to get garage door open and car out...

Ran to no. 4, similar notch/re-entrant in low slope across marsh to no. 1... was so convinced that it utterly confused me as to why the control number was wrong. Noted that control 4 was number 40 but didn't dawn on me that this meant I knew where I was on the map. So promptly ran off in wrong direction on a complete headless guess.... 2, was almost at control, just didn't spot the trench so backtracked to obvious junction and went from there. Things started getting a bit better from then on, until I stepped in a puddle right up to my middle between 3 and 4... decided to laugh rather than cry and to just enjoy the day. Went in way to early on 5, 12-13 just got confused with the paths and dithered about for ages. Overshot 14 as was very small pit with flag hung low in amongst bracken. 16-17 went straight, would have been better off going up and round I reckon.... really enjoyed it once I got going!

Good session. Scott bailed after 1.5 efforts so I had to take up the lead and run all the way to the top. Paced it much better this time and managed all 6 efforts....
