Absolutely freezing torrential downpour/thunderstorm on the jog to the mountain of eden..

Froth session back at the mighty Mt Eden! 3*threshold then 1 jogged one more casual for my first foray back into hill sessions (also race coming up this weekend). Times were 7:51 (oops) 8:19, 8:17. Pace control was sub-optimal and apparently my heart wasn't beating.. but was feeling very good!

Awesome run up the hill behind the taupo township. Really nice technical trail up which even had a section through lava tubes! Unfortunately too cloudy and wet to see the apparently amazing views from the top, was also very very cold! (Phone said -2!)

Disappointed with this race, I was running really strongly and nearly caught the Wesley guy in front of me up the hill. Just as I closed however I overextended my leg on the down damaging my knee and couldn't extend my stride after that properly. So frustrating as I was on track to really make a statement but promising signs all the same. I was 10sec/km slower on the 2nd half with a down and flat then I was on the first 4km uphill!
